Nursery Faux Taxidermy

A gift for my new nephew made entirely out of AC Moore materials.  Cheap beanie babies, hot glue, wood and wood stainer... and then just a little bling to fance it up.  It's now hanging over his crib and I couldn't be happier.

Faux Taxidermy

Animal friendly animal heads! Parfait! This style has been all over the place recently (especially now that Anthropologie has gotten in on the action), and I'm loving it. Of course it's cool to see a huge moose head above the fireplace of a grand ski lodge, or a bear rug in an old study... but the Bambie-loving-little-kid in me does always feel the pangs of sadness wondering how they got there. I'm adoring the work done by Frederique Morrel. There's an entire collection of embroidered taxidermy on his site that's just spectacular. But Rachel Denny's "Domestic Trophies" are my absolute favorite. Definitely buying one for myself. Love these.
