Animal friendly animal heads! Parfait! This style has been all over the place recently (especially now that Anthropologie has gotten in on the action), and I'm loving it. Of course it's cool to see a huge moose head above the fireplace of a grand ski lodge, or a bear rug in an old study... but the Bambie-loving-little-kid in me does always feel the pangs of sadness wondering how they got there. I'm adoring the work done by Frederique Morrel. There's an entire collection of embroidered taxidermy on his site that's just spectacular. But Rachel Denny's "Domestic Trophies" are my absolute favorite. Definitely buying one for myself. Love these.
I fully realize this is an odd thing to be "into", but I just adore a good execution of a painted staircase. Hallways can be such a tricky thing to decorate, and the staircase is such a focal point. Why not use it to its full stylistic potential? Someday I want a house with two staircases; one in the front, and one off the kitchen. Why? Because I'm psycho. Happy Wednesday!
My new jam... Metallic prints and wallpaper. It's so girly and fab. Big fan. Not sure I could ever pull this off, but hey... a gal can dream. Happy Columbus Day kids!
My dream home. Easily. I cannot get enough of the red, white, and blue flag happiness draped across the antique finished white plank wall. Stunning. See more of the Muskoka home featured in the August issue of Pure Green here. Pure Green is a Canadian-based design magazine and has become a new obsession of mine. Mainly because one of my most favorite bloggers (English Muffin) is an illustrator and common fixture for the imprint. Take a peek at the most recent issue here. Happy Monday, kids!
Summer can't come soon enough! A dear friend of mine just recently purchased a Hamptons shore house, and ever since he's been knee deep in renovations the last few weeks. From new floors to new landscaping, now comes the fun (yet equally stressful) part... decorating! Saw these prints today and it reminded me of something fun for his new place. Nothing says beach decor like vintage sea life prints, right?! See more of this collection here.
27 year old New Yorker recently living in Los Angeles... fan of design, crafts, and pretty things. My favorite color is yellow and my Grandmother (Grace) is my eternal inspiration. I call her Beebee.
